I was saying it more for me. I honestly like any kind of art, especially of my characters, so long as it's at least got the basics down. Like, to me, yes, I love Aphex's piece a lot because of his style, along with things he does with ponies, but I also like, say, Batdesu's art for being simple and cute. I also like Cell's art, primarily because it's interesting to see an artist start out, and get better and better in a noticeable way.

Personally, I took you saying "best art" as more of a "which bat has the most complex piece, with the most going on, and the most detail thrown into it," so I went with Aphex's piece. However, for something that shows an artist's progress, I'd go with anything Vito's done with his hand-drawings, or Cell's pieces.

She was born and raised in Cloudsdale to a bat mother and a pegasus father. She is super highly energetic, excitable, and bubbly (like Pinkie but not annoying), she's very small size-wise.

Whatever bickering there is about Rosewood being a bat pony is of no consequence, since she's referred to as a thirster or unibat.
When one refers to bat ponies, they typically visualize a pony with fangs, slit pupils, fluffy ears, and bat wings. Not a combination of two or three of those, not a single one feature, but all of them together.
When one refers to thirster, unibat, or vampony, it's typically any regular species of pony (earth, pegasus, unicorn) with fangs, and a thirst for blood.
A half-bat hybrid? Sure, it has potential. So long as it is actually half-bat and includes half of the bat features, rather than just one. (Rosewood with fangs, Ink Blot with the ears)

A picture of a bat (fu 蝠) can be a visual pun for "good fortune" or happiness (fu 福) because both characters are pronounced fu. Often the bat is shown flying upside down because the character (dao 倒) for "upside-down" and the character (dao 到) meaning "to have arrived" are both pronounced dao. Therefore, if a person were to say "the bat is flying upside down" a listener could just as easily hear this as "happiness has arrived" which, of course, has a very auspicious connotation.
